American Cruise Lines has introduced 18 of the 21 U.S.-built cruise ships launched in the past two decades. As the only 100% USA-flagged fleet of riverboats and small cruise ships globally, ACL continues its annual expansion with innovative designs for small-sized vessels. Sailing on the East Coast, the 109-passenger ship has been designed to offer "close-to-home" adventures that combine the atmosphere of an expedition cruise with the stability of a river cruising. The largest accommodations are located forward on Deck 4 - Sky Suite (425 ft2 / 40 m2) and Grand Suite (550 ft2 / 51 m2), with sizes including their terraces.
Veranda Suite
The 1267-ton, 49-passenger American Glory was US-flagged and crewed and fully-owned by ACL. The boat was seaworthy and compliant with the USA's PVSA (Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886) which allowed it to transport passengers between US ports directly (without visiting a foreign seaport along the current itinerary). American Cruise Lines is continuing its partnership with leading Miami-based design company Studio DADO to create the interiors of American Glory. The ship's vibe will combine a modern and sophisticated feel with interiors promoting a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history and heritage. The decor, furnishings and art work will reflect the culture of the New England, Chesapeake Bay, and the Southeast where American Glory will sail.
AAM rooms are introductory balcony rooms with 310 square feet of space and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors for sweeping views. Each room has an interior seating area, as well as a private balcony with a table and chairs. AAM rooms have large bathroom, wardrobe, ample drawer storage, under bed suitcase storage, 54” inch led TV, writing desk, safe, and complimentary WiFi. The luxurious Grand Suites are among the finest accommodations afloat with an unprecedented 620-square-feet of personal space. Each suite has a living room, bedroom, interior and exterior dining areas, and a spacious master bathroom.
American Cruise Lines has been on an ambitious newbuild program for several years now, and American Glory is the latest in a line of hybrid catamaran ships that can explore coastal ocean waters or inland rivers with ease. The new fleet has been designed to sail in all types of water; small enough for New England harbors, stable enough for the Alaska Inside Passage and with a draft shallow enough for the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. American Glory will sail on the East Coast and the rest of the fleet will be deployed across the U.S. All of the ships are being constructed by the line's sister shipyard, Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland. Hotel beds are Queen-size double or two twins, with plush headboards, ample under-bed storage space (for suitcases), bedside cabinets (3-drawer, with reading lamps), 2-door wardrobe/closet, chest of drawers (bedroom dresser), individual climate control, medical emergency button. Launched shortly after the series flagship, American Eagle, and the new riverboat American Serenade, American Glory underscores the company's market strength and its unique capability to offer a growing range of 100% U.S. itineraries along rivers and coasts.
We chose the inaugural Florida Gulf Coast Cruise on the brand new American Glory. Entertainment quality was mixed, very good on some nights and very poor on other nights. This was probably due to the brand new itinerary and the Christmas holiday period. Our cabin was great but there was a little engine noise since we were in the rear of the ship. We can strongly recommend this cruise if you wish a friendly, quiet, and intimate cruise experience. As clientele, the boat served mainly older and well-traveled North Americans.
Large floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead to a comfortable balcony with a table and chairs. Vista rooms have a large bathroom, wardrobe, ample drawer storage, under bed suitcase storage, 54” inch led TV, writing desk, safe, and complimentary WiFi. The AAA staterooms are the largest standard rooms on any riverboat with 310 square feet of interior space.
